What is Mecres?

It all began with Mom making tamales for extra cash, never imagining how quickly they’d become a holiday sensation. Orders poured in, and our kitchen was filled with the aroma of her incredible recipes.

Her dedication inspired me. We started selling her tamales at farmers' markets. It was just Mom and me at first, handling everything from prep to cleanup. Long, exhausting days were worth it when we sold out every evening.

As demand grew, my siblings joined in. For three years, we worked tirelessly, saving and dreaming of something bigger.

Today, that dream is real: our own restaurant. What began as Sazon de Noemi, named after our incredible mom, has become a reflection of our family’s hard work and love.

To us, “Mecres” means family, love, and perseverance. When you visit and taste our food, we hope you feel the love in every bite. This is more than a business; it’s our way of honoring our Mom and sharing her journey with you.
